بعد العد التنازلي لآخر عشر ثواني من العام القديم تُغني الناس في البلدان الناطقة باللغة الانكليزية اغنية تراثية مشهورة  تدعى

 Auld Lang Syne

 القليل من الناس يعرف هذه الكلمات والاقل يعرف معناها واحيانا يشار الى هذه الاغنية مزاحا .. الاغنية التي لا يعرف احد معناها

كُتبت باللهجة الاسكتلندية من قبل الشاعر الأسكتلندي المحبوب في بلده روبرت بيرنز 1759- 1796

تعني الكلمات الثلاث اعلاه الأزمنة الماضية ولم يقتصر غناء هذه الاغنية في عيد رأس السنة بل تُغنى في العديد من المناسبات في مختلف أنحاء العالم مثل مناسبات التخرج والجنازات وغيرها رمزا للوداع

اللحن الذي تسمعونه مع قرائتكم لهذه السطور هو لهذه الاغنية الجميلة بالمزمار الاسكتلندي

 اما كلماتها فهي كالتالي
