Santa's Family in Bakhdida

Five years ago that means in 1999 exactly in March in a town called Bakhdida north of Iraq in Nineveh government we began (we are 8 chaps in 20-21 of age & the ninth is a man in his 40s) thinking how we can give some of happiness to the hearts of the people who are so tired & suffered especially the children who can not use all their imagination because there is no ability which provide that for them

We continued in embracing our idea till September, while the world was preparing for the Christmas & new year season, we were watching this in the television without real sharing in these preparing, in that period the imagination of our children began expanded & their dreams grown up with the hope that (Santa close) will come as it happens in the movies & give them the presents riding his sleigh & singing the Christmas songs .So they wish that they will wake up in the morning & and see the present that he had given them at the night  …etc

At this time we saw the chance is good to translate our idea to come true, so we decided to do (Santa) & give the children the presents. After that we began our second step which was introducing our selves and our idea to the people so we had called our team (Santa's Family) . Then we stepped our third step which consists of some questions we asked : where will we get the presents from? How will we give them to the children? What will we need to give them

When we finished this step we stepped another one, the last was placing answers to our questions, so we decided to collect the gifts from the town's citizens & buy some presents to the children. We began collecting the gifts from the people, and we had got small gifts because of the poor conditions of the people

So we had bought simple presents & we began think how we will give them to the children, So the man who is with us has given us his car to use it in giving the presents to the children & another one has give us the tape player to play the Christmas song, When we see the presents are not enough for all the children we have decided to divide the town to quarters & in every year we decide to visit one of the quarter

In this way our first visit has be achieved & completed indeed at the night of 25/12/2000. In spite of that  our visit was simple  & we had no Christmas suits because of our poor abilities, but at the same time our visit was really so wonderful & it had succeed, because in the next morning we had saw the children so happy & glad because ( Santa close ) had visited them & given them the Christmas presents . We continued in our simple work till 2002 because in this date the Democratic Assyrians Movement had given us (300 000 diner) that is equal to (200 dollars) at that time & this amount helped us to buy the (Santa close) suits, some lights for the car & presents

But all this work had be threatened after the war on Iraq, which had made every one tired &  suffered without any specialize & it had kidnapped the shy smile which began compose on our children's lips . So the need nowadays is more strong to back the smile up & gift it to the children as a Christmas present & to give them another hope that there are nice things in this life & there is who like the love, the peace & the happiness & there is who cares to their case & conditions & to give them his attention & there is who is ready to give them some of his time & there is an alive heart beats in an alive human

So please help us in both sides spiritual & materialist for the sake of giving a smile to Iraqi children.
